Kevin Hern, born on December 4, 1961, in Belton, Missouri, is a Republican politician representing Oklahoma's 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. Raised in Pope County, Arkansas, he developed an early appreciation for the sacrifices of military families. After working as an aerospace engineer for Rockwell International, Hern transitioned into entrepreneurship, notably owning and operating multiple McDonald's franchises in Oklahoma. He was sworn into Congress on November 13, 2018, succeeding Jim Bridenstine.
