Biography

Kevin Cramer, born on January 21, 1961, in Rolla, North Dakota, is a Republican politician serving as the junior United States Senator for North Dakota since 2019. He was re-elected in 2024, defeating Democratic nominee Katrina Christiansen. Prior to his tenure in the Senate, Cramer represented North Dakota's at-large congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019. His political career also includes roles as the state's Public Service Commissioner from 2003 to 2012 and as chairman of the North Dakota Republican Party from 1991 to 1993.
