Biography
Delegate Kevin Anderson
Howard Kevin Anderson was born in 1967 and is from Princess Anne, Maryland. He is a third-generation seed farmer who has been farming since the late 1980s. Anderson and his father, William, operate Wimberly Farms, which specializes in growing corn, soybeans, wheat, and barley in Somerset County. In 1991, he launched a seed cleaning operation at the farm.
Anderson is a Republican member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 38A since December 9, 2025. He was appointed to fill the remainder of Charles J. Otto's term following Otto's death in October 2025. The Wicomico, Somerset, and Worcester County Republican Central Committees unanimously nominated Anderson on November 10, 2025, and Governor Wes Moore appointed him on November 25, 2025.
Education
Anderson attended Washington High School in Princess Anne, Maryland, and McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland. He earned an associate degree in agriculture production and management from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Political Experience and Notable Achievements
Anderson's involvement in politics began in 2010 when he encouraged his friend Charles J. Otto to run for the House of Delegates and served as Otto's campaign manager.
Beyond his legislative role, Anderson has held several agricultural leadership positions, including serving as director of the Somerset County Farm Bureau and on the boards of UniSouth Genetics, the Maryland Grain Producers Association, the Maryland Crop Improvement Association, and the Somerset County Property Review Board. He currently serves as Vice-President of the Maryland Crop Association and on the Board of Directors of Maryland Grain Producers.
In the Maryland House of Delegates, Anderson is assigned to the Environment and Transportation Committee and its Agriculture and Aquaculture, Energy, and Environment subcommittees. He is also a member of the Rural Caucus and the Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Anderson has received significant recognition for his agricultural work, including the National Young Farmer Achievement Award from the American Farm Bureau Federation and National Outstanding Young Farmer from Outstanding Farmers of America . He also received a governor's citation for his work on the Pocomoke floodplain with The Nature Conservancy.
