Kevin Alons is a Republican Iowa State Senator representing District 7 . Born in 1968 in Gregory, South Dakota, he was raised on a farm near Boyden and is a long-time resident of Salix. He is a small business owner of Alons Software, a technology consulting firm specializing in software development and database architecture, and a retired Colonel from the Iowa National Guard with over 29 years of service, including roles as director of operations, mobility pilot, and former fighter pilot.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree from Northwestern College; master's degree from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
• Political Experience: Serving his first term in the Iowa Senate. Previously chaired the Woodbury County Republican Party for two terms and served one term as its treasurer. Follows in the footsteps of his late father, Brig. General Dwayne Alons, who represented Sioux County in the Iowa House from 1999 to 2014.
• Notable Positions and Achievements: Serves on committees including Health and Human Services, Technology , Veterans Affairs, International Relations, Local Government, State Government, Agriculture, and Workforce. Active in church leadership at Restoration Church in Sioux City, American Legion, Experimental Aircraft Association, and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Married to Ngu for over 33 years with three adult children and three grandchildren.
