Biography
Keven J. Stratton is a Republican Utah State Senator representing District 24, which covers parts of Utah and Wasatch counties. Appointed to the Utah House of Representatives in 2012, he joined the Senate in 2025. He serves as co-chair of the Social Services Appropriations Subcommittee and the Federalism Commission, and is a member of the Senate Rules Committee, Senate Health and Human Services Committee, Senate Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment Committee, Transportation and Infrastructure Appropriations Subcommittee, and Legislative Water Commission. An attorney and farmer, he owns companies in construction, agriculture, manufacturing, real estate, and law, employing over 250 people. Notable recognitions include Outstanding Businessman of the Year by the Utah State Chamber of Commerce and Outstanding Citizen of the Year by Senator Arthur V. Watkins. He has held community roles such as chair of the Provo-Orem Chamber of Commerce, Healthy Utah Valley, and Kids on the Move, and advisory board member of the Utah Consumer Protection Agency. Stratton and his wife, Laurie, live in Orem with eight children and 21 grandchildren.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance and J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.
- Political Experience: Appointed to Utah House in 2012 ; transitioned to Senate District 24 in 2025. Previously chaired House committees on Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environmental Quality, and Legislative Water Commission. Key legislative efforts include public lands protection, criminal justice reform, water policy, Utah Lake algal blooms, business legislation, and protections for the unborn.
