Biography
Senator Kerry Roberts is a Republican representing Tennessee Senate District 23, which includes Cheatham, Dickson, Hickman, Humphreys, and Robertson counties, along with a portion of Montgomery County. Elected in 2011 and re-elected in 2014, 2018, and 2022, he is recognized for his diplomacy, statesmanship, and effectiveness. He serves as Vice Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee and is a member of the Senate Education Committee and Senate State and Local Government Committee. A husband since 1987 to Dianne, he is a father of three, part-time farmer, and small business owner who raised his family on a small farm in a 160-year-old house.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Lipscomb University in 1983; served as adjunct business faculty there from 1984 to 1990. His children attended public K-12 schools, Harding University, and Tennessee Tech University.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Tennessee Senate in 2011; frequently appears on Nashville media to discuss state issues and gives tours of the historic Tennessee State Capitol.
