Kenneth Howard Upchurch was born on June 4, 1969, and was raised in Monticello, Kentucky. He is a member of the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church and serves on the board of Immanuel Christian Academy. Professionally, Upchurch works as an insurance agent with Upchurch Insurance and Financial services. He has also served as the owner and publisher of the Monticello Stage, a community newspaper, and as vice president of Tiger Homes, Incorporated. Earlier in his career, he worked in public relations for Avian Farms from 1992 to 1994 and served as the Eastern Kentucky field representative for Senator Mitch McConnell from 1995 to 1996.
