Biography
Representative Ken Sweezey
Kenneth Peter Sweezey is a Republican member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives representing the 6th Plymouth district. A resident of Pembroke, Massachusetts, he serves the towns of Duxbury, Halifax, Hanson, Pembroke, and Marshfield.
Sweezey was born and raised in Hanson, where he grew up working in his family's small business in Whitman. These early experiences shaped his strong advocacy for small business interests and his opposition to government overreach. Before entering the state legislature, Sweezey served for over two years on both the Economic Development Committee and the Capital Improvement Committee for the Town of Hanson as a private citizen.
Education
Sweezey attended Hanson Public Schools before graduating from Boston College High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Forensic Science from Loyola University Chicago.
Political Experience and Career
Following his education, Sweezey worked as a Latent Fingerprint Examiner for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, where he served for four years and gained firsthand experience with law enforcement challenges. He later transitioned to the private sector, currently working as a project specialist at a small biotech company.
In the Massachusetts House, Sweezey serves on the House Committee on Human Resources and Employee Engagement. He ran for State Representative with a platform focused on bringing accountability to Beacon Hill, reducing taxes, and preventing harm to small businesses. His stated priorities include fighting for workers, business owners, first responders, and families throughout his district.
