Biography

Ken Gucker represents Connecticut's 138th House District, covering parts of Danbury, New Fairfield, and Ridgefield. A longtime Danbury resident for over 35 years, he was raised in New Fairfield, where he graduated from local schools, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with Three Palms in Boy Scout Troop 42, and served as a volunteer firefighter. Born on September 14, 1964, Gucker is a small business owner and nationally recognized auto-restoration specialist. He has been active in local issues, including land use, environmental conservation, and historic preservation, notably leading opposition to high-density development in Danbury's Cotswold area. Endorsed by the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters, he serves on committees including Education, Environment, Government Oversight , and Planning and Development.

Education and Political Experience

Gucker earned a Bachelor of Arts from Western Connecticut State University. Politically, he served three terms as Vice Chair of the Danbury Democratic Town Committee. First elected to the Connecticut House in 2018 by a narrow margin, he won re-election in 2020. He lost narrowly in 2022 by 26 votes to Republican Rachel Chaleski but reclaimed the seat in 2024 by 142 votes, assuming office on January 8, 2025.
