Biography
Kendricks "Ken" Brass is a Democratic representative for Louisiana House District 58, covering parts of Ascension, St. James, and St. John the Baptist parishes. First elected in 2017 and eligible to serve through the 2024 term, he works as an electrical engineer at BASF and resides in Vacherie, Louisiana. Notable positions include Vice Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, member of the Natural Resources and Environment Committee, Retirement Committee, Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay, Capital Region Legislative Delegation, Democratic Caucus, and Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus. Previously, he served as a St. James Parish Councilman for District 6, where he was Vice Chairman and involved in community boards like Relay for Life, Area Agency on Aging, and Head Start. He is active in local service, including the Vacherie Fire Department, youth mentoring programs, and coaching sports.
