Biography
Ken Bogner is a Republican who represents Senate District 18 in the Montana State Senate, covering Miles City in southeast Montana. Born and raised in Miles City to a family of ranching homesteaders, he is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served as a combat engineer with two tours in Iraq along the Euphrates River and the Syrian border. He has served eight years in the Senate, becoming its youngest member upon election in 2018, and currently holds the position of President Pro Tempore. Notable achievements include passing legislation to prohibit foreign adversaries from buying Montana land, ensure post-election audits for all voting precincts, and protect individual privacy from government surveillance. In 2024, he ran as the Republican candidate for U.S. House District 2 . He later transitioned to a role in the U.S. Army blending his military experience. Bogner also coaches Miles City's American Legion baseball team, helps on the family ranch, started a business aiding veteran employment, and supports his community after his brother was wounded by an IED in Afghanistan.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Attended Columbia University on the G.I. Bill and earned a master’s degree in public policy from Middlesex University in London, U.K.
Political Experience: Elected to the Montana State Senate in 2018 for District 18; served as the youngest senator and advanced to President Pro Tempore; focused on national security, election integrity, land ownership, and privacy rights.
