Kelly Kortum

Kelly Kortum is a Democratic representative from Montana who represents House District 64, which encompasses northwest Bozeman. A lifelong Montanan, Kortum grew up in Ekalaka, a small agricultural community in southeastern Montana. He is married to Rebecca Stanton, and together they rent an apartment in west Bozeman.

Political Experience

Kortum has served three terms in the Montana House of Representatives, focusing on affordability for Montanans. He was first elected in 2024, winning his general election by 9% .

Within the legislature, Kortum holds several significant committee positions, serving as Vice Chair of State Administration and Vice Chair of Energy, Technology and Federal Relations. He is also a member of the Committee of the Whole and the Local Government Committee.

Early Political Involvement

Kortum's involvement in politics began in the summer of 2015 when he became the volunteer website and communications director for the Gallatin County Democrats, helping to lay the groundwork for his later legislative service.
