Kelly Breen is a Democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives, currently serving her third term representing the 21st District in Oakland County. This district includes parts of Farmington, Farmington Hills, Northville, Novi, and South Lyon. Born Kelly A. Hough-Breen on August 18, 1977, in Detroit , she is a lifelong Michigander, married to Matthew , and mother of two children, Abigail and Elliott. An attorney by profession, she has focused on workers' compensation and personal injury litigation. Notable achievements include her advocacy against irresponsible local development, securing funding for firefighters on Novi City Council, supporting public schools, affordable child care, essential workers during COVID, and empowering survivors of sexual abuse. She prioritizes healthcare access, environmental sustainability, commonsense gun safety, protecting water resources, and bipartisan collaboration. She serves as Chair of the House Judiciary Committee and holds positions on committees including Criminal Justice, Ethics and Oversight, Insurance and Financial Services, and Local Government & Municipal Finance.
