Biography
Kellie Deeter is a Republican state representative serving Ohio's 54th House District, which includes all of Huron County except Lyme and Wakeman Township, plus western and southern Lorain County areas such as Rochester, Wellington, LaGrange, Eaton Estates, Avon, and parts of North Ridgeville. Born and raised in Huron County, she resides in Norwalk with her husband Keven and their six children, and they are members of St. Paul Catholic Church. Elected in the 2024 Ohio House election, she is serving her first term. Deeter owns Firelands Anesthesia, providing anesthesia services to hospitals and surgery centers, and Firelands Medispa; she actively practices as a dually certified nurse anesthetist and nurse practitioner. Notable achievements include serving as President of the Ohio State Association of Nurse Anesthetists for one term, Treasurer for one term, and Director of State Government Relations for nearly a decade; she also served on the OSANA board for eight years and the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Finance Committee for one term. She received the 2018 AANA Ira P. Gunn Award for Outstanding Professional Advocacy and the 2017 OSANA CRNA of the Year Award.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bowling Green State University in consortium with the Medical College of Ohio ; Master's degree from the University of Akron's nurse anesthesia program; Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Maryville University of St. Louis.
Political Experience: First-term Ohio House Representative for District 54; previously announced candidacy in 2024 to succeed term-limited Rep. Dick Stein, emphasizing her healthcare and business expertise for policy solutions.
