Biography
Keith Jackson
Keith Jackson was born on October 1, 1978, and serves as a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives representing the 45th District. A Democrat, he represents constituents across parts of Kemper, Lauderdale, Winston, and Neshoba counties. Jackson was elected to the Mississippi Legislature in November 2023, defeating Republican Michael Cassidy. He took office in 2024 as a freshman lawmaker.
According to his legislative profile, Jackson works in law enforcement and attended the Law Enforcement Training Academy. He is an active member of the Cattleman Association and the NAACP.
Political Experience
In the House of Representatives, Jackson serves on multiple committees including Agriculture, Constitution, Corrections, Forestry, and Judiciary B. As a state representative, his responsibilities include representing constituent interests, voting on legislation and policy proposals, and advocating for community resources and funding for his district.
In March 2023, Jackson was indicted by a Kemper County Grand Jury on charges of receiving and possession of stolen property. He was accused of possessing a stolen log trailer valued between $1,000 and $5,000 that was being used for his business. Jackson turned himself in on March 25, 2024. Two other individuals, William Tate and Frederick Young, were also named in the indictment.
