Biography
Keith W. Goehner is a Republican member of the Washington State Senate representing District 12, which spans Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, Grant, King, and Snohomish counties. A third-generation orchardist and president of K&L Orchards Inc., he is a pear grower in the Dryden area of the Wenatchee Valley. He serves as Ranking Republican on the Senate Housing Committee, Assistant Ranking Republican on the Transportation Committee, and a member of the Senate Local Government Committee. Notable prior roles include four terms as Chelan County Commissioner and service on the Peshastin-Dryden School Board, Winter Pear Committee, and Blue Star Growers Board. Married to Lisa for over 50 years, they raised three children on their family orchard and have eight grandchildren.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Arts in education from Seattle Pacific University; former elementary school teacher in Moses Lake.
- Political Experience: Elected to Washington House of Representatives in 2018 ; advanced to Senate as a first-term senator. Extensive community involvement includes Leavenworth Church of the Nazarene Board, Rotary, Confluence Hospital Foundation Board, Cascade Education Foundation, and coaching youth basketball and baseball.
