Biography

Katrina R. Jackson-Andrews is a Democratic State Senator representing District 34 in the Louisiana State Senate, which includes parishes such as Concordia, East Carroll, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, and Tensas. Born in July 1977 in Monroe, Louisiana, she is a lawyer, Baptist, and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Elected unopposed in 2019, she assumed office on January 13, 2020, succeeding Francis C. Thompson due to term limits, and is eligible to serve through the 2028-2032 term. Previously, she represented District 16 in the Louisiana House from 2012 to 2020 after winning in 2011.
