Biography

Katrina Callsen is a Democratic delegate representing Virginia's 54th House District, which includes the City of Charlottesville and part of Albemarle County. Born in Schweinfurt, Germany, she is a biracial attorney, working parent, and former chair of the Albemarle County School Board. Elected in the 2023 Virginia House of Delegates election, she took office on January 10, 2024, and serves on the Committees for Counties, Cities and Towns; Courts of Justice; and Finance. Notable achievements include winning the Democratic primary with 47.3% of the vote and advocating for educational equity, women's rights, public education, healthcare access, affordable housing, gun safety, and clean energy. She resides in Charlottesville with her husband, Gilman A. Callsen , and their two sons, Lucius and Bennett.
