Biography
Kathy Kennedy is a Republican member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing the 119th District, which covers parts of Orange and Milford. First elected in 2018, she has been re-elected multiple times, including in 2020, 2022, and 2024, and announced her candidacy for a fourth term. Notable achievements include bipartisan efforts on mental health for children, domestic violence protections, women's health care, historic tax cuts, safer roads through wrong-way driving detection systems, opposition to gas-powered vehicle bans, preservation of local zoning control, and public safety measures against juvenile crime.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduate of Amity Regional High School; attended Southern Connecticut State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in applied social relations.
- Political Experience: Elected Connecticut PTA president ; president of Milford Council of PTAs with state awards. Assumed office in 2019; serves on Public Health, Appropriations, Education, and Transportation committees; Ranking Member on Transportation and Executive and Legislative Nominations committees. Named State Director for Women in Government in 2023.
