Kathy Edmonston is a Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 88 in Ascension Parish. She assumed office on January 13, 2020, and is eligible to serve through 2028. A mother of four and grandmother, she has lived in Ascension Parish for over 40 years and worked as a retired family resource facilitator for Ascension Parish schools, serving all 28 schools over 22 years. She is a member of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus, Vice Chair of the Judiciary and Civil Law and Procedure committees, and serves on the House Select Committee on Homeland Security and the House Select Committee on Women and Children. Notable positions include advocating for parental rights on vaccines, such as introducing HB46 in 2024 to prohibit requiring COVID-19 vaccines for school enrollment.
