Biography
Kate A. Klunk is a Republican representative for Pennsylvania's 169th Legislative District, serving portions of southern York County, including the Hanover area. First elected in 2014, she is a ninth-generation resident known for advocating fiscal responsibility, tax relief, business-friendly policies, and educational improvements.
Kate A. Klunk, born June 4, 1982, grew up in the Hanover area of southern York County, Pennsylvania. A conservative voice in Harrisburg, she focuses on efficient government, taxpayer priorities, reining in business-unfriendly regulations, opposing tax increases, and enhancing quality of life for families and children. Prior to her election on November 4, 2014, to the newly created 169th District, she worked in the White House under President George W. Bush on the National Economic Council, preparing economic policy briefings, and later on his communications team. She also interned for Congressman Todd Platts.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated as valedictorian from Hanover Senior High School . Earned a B.A. cum laude in economics, history, and public policy studies from Dickinson College on an academic scholarship, working jobs like packing potato chips at Utz Quality Foods. Obtained her Juris Doctor from The Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2014 ; has served continuously since 2015, including through the 2025-26 session.
