Representative Kasey Carpenter

Kasey Scott Carpenter is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives representing District 4, which includes Dalton. He was sworn into office on November 20, 2017. Carpenter is a restaurant owner, operating Oakwood Cafe and Sweet Spot since 2004. He is married to Julie and was born on May 4.

Political Experience

Carpenter has held several significant positions within the Georgia House:

• Chairman of the Creative Arts & Entertainment Committee
• Secretary of the Higher Education Committee
• Member of multiple committees including Appropriations, Industry and Labor, Regulated Industries, Transportation, and Ways & Means
• Chair of the Study Committee on Heat-Related Injuries, Cardiac Injuries, and Other Sports-Related Injuries

He was elected to the Georgia House in 2017 and has been re-elected in subsequent elections, including 2022 and 2024.

Beyond his legislative work, Carpenter is active in community leadership through memberships in Leadership Dalton-Whitfield and Leadership Georgia.
