Biography
Kari Rehrauer is a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives representing District 35B as a member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party *. Born Kari Lynn Geissler on December 8, 1975, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, she grew up in a middle-class family, contributing to the family business and working jobs like paper route carrier and server to pay for college. She is married with two children and resides in Coon Rapids, Anoka County. Previously a science teacher for 20 years and field staffer for Education Minnesota , she served on the Coon Rapids City Council after winning election in 2020. In 2022, she ran unsuccessfully for Minnesota Senate District 35. She was elected to the House in 2024, defeating her opponent with 50.51% of the vote, and serves her first term . Notable positions include *Co-Vice Chair of the Veterans and Military Affairs Division, plus memberships on Education Finance and Housing Finance and Policy committees. She is recognized as a union activist, endorsed by the Minnesota AFL-CIO and DFL, and advocates for workers, education, and marginalized communities.
