Biography
Karen McCormick is a Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives, representing District 11 . A veterinarian by profession, she owned and operated a veterinary clinic for 16 years and served as a communications coach at Colorado State University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Elected in November 2020, she assumed office on January 13, 2021, and chairs the House Agriculture, Water and Natural Resources Committee. Notable achievements include her 2018 Democratic nomination for Colorado's 4th congressional district, where she built momentum for Democratic statewide candidates despite losing to the incumbent. She advocates for families, healthcare, education, LGBTQ rights, reproductive rights, economic opportunity, and environmental issues.
