Delegate Karen Hamilton

Karen Fleming Hamilton is a Republican member of the Virginia House of Delegates representing the 62nd District, which encompasses parts of Culpeper, Greene, Madison, and Orange Counties. She was elected in 2025 and took office on January 14, 2026.

Hamilton is a dedicated Christian and military wife. She is married to Cameron Hamilton, a former Navy SEAL and Combat Medic who currently serves as a Division Director at Homeland Security. Together, they have three children, whom Karen homeschools. The family has resided in Orange, Virginia since 2016.

Growing up in a military town, Hamilton was shaped by her community's patriotism and her parents' strong Christian values. Her parents served as Christian missionaries for many years, modeling principles of faith, hard work, and sacrifice. She is the youngest of three children.

Education

Hamilton earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Upon graduating, she worked as a Structural Engineer before leaving her career to focus on family life.

Political Experience

Hamilton is a small business owner in Orange, Virginia. She is politically active in her community and leads a women's Bible study. Prior to her election to the House of Delegates, she coached and taught in various capacities. Her campaign platform emphasizes protecting constitutional rights, supporting rural communities, and advancing education and infrastructure initiatives.
