Biography
Karen Dolan is a Democrat representing Chittenden-22 in the Vermont House of Representatives, serving since 2021. A lifelong Vermonter, she grew up in the Northeast Kingdom and now resides in Essex Junction with her husband Jason, two children, and two dogs. Her career focuses on public service, including initiatives in food security, work readiness, criminal justice reform, and community dialogue; she currently works as a Restorative Justice Specialist at the Essex Community Justice Center, serves as a substitute teacher, and volunteers with organizations like Voices for Inclusion in Essex and Westford , Meals on Wheels, and Ronald McDonald House.
Notable achievements and positions include membership on the House Judiciary Committee, House Rules Committee , Joint Legislative Management Committee, Joint Rules Committee, and Special Committee on State House Improvements . Previously, she served on the House Corrections & Institutions Committee and Government Accountability Committee, and was involved in the Special Committee on Impeachment Inquiry. Other roles: Essex Junction Capital Project Review Committee member, 2020 EmergeVT alum, Girls on the Run Coach, Essex Democrats member, and Essex Resists member.
