Biography
Kalman Yeger is an American politician serving in the New York State Assembly for the 41st district in Brooklyn, encompassing neighborhoods including Flatlands, Sheepshead Bay, parts of East Flatbush, Midwood, and Canarsie. He is a conservative member of the Democratic Party. Yeger won the 2024 Democratic primary with 70.7% of the vote, defeating Adam Dweck, and secured the general election uncontested on Democratic, Republican, and Conservative lines. He succeeded longtime Assembly Member Helene Weinstein after her retirement following 44 years in office, assuming the seat in January 2025 after resigning from the New York City Council. Previously, in 2023, he won unopposed in the Democratic primary and defeated Harold "Heshy" Tischler in the Republican primary.
