Biography
Justin D. Ready is a Republican member of the Maryland State Senate representing District 5 . A Carroll County native, he was appointed to the Senate on February 2, 2015, following his service in the Maryland House of Delegates , and was elected to his first full term in 2018. He currently serves as Senate Minority Whip and holds committee assignments including Finance Committee, Executive Nominations Committee, and Rules Committee. Ready focuses on reducing the cost of living, supporting families, protecting Constitutional rights, increasing penalties for violent crimes and human trafficking, and opposing mid-decade redistricting.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Attended Carroll Community College and graduated from Salisbury University.
- Early Career: Worked as staff in the Maryland General Assembly, operated his own small business, served as Executive Director of the Maryland Republican Party, and currently works as a regional sales strategist for a national marketing and advertising company.
