Biography

Justin Olson is a Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives, representing District 10 , which includes parts of Pima County and East Mesa. Born January 1, 1979, in Arizona to a family with deep generational roots in the state, he is married to Karyn and has nine children . Olson is a tax analyst who previously worked for the University of Phoenix and served as Chief Financial Officer for Turning Point USA. His notable achievements include authoring legislation to cut taxes, balance Arizona's budget during the 2010 crisis, reduce state debt, expand school choice, and defund Planned Parenthood and Obamacare in Arizona; he earned awards such as Champion of the Taxpayer by Americans for Prosperity, Representative of the Year by the National Federation of Independent Businesses, Free Market Champion by the Free Enterprise Club, School Choice Champion by the American Federation for Children, and an "A" rating from the National Rifle Association. He currently chairs the House Appropriations Committee and serves on the House Committee on Education.

Education and Political Experience

Olson holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

His political career began with election to the Arizona House in 2010, representing Districts 19 and 25 until 2017, where he focused on fiscal responsibility amid a $3.6 billion deficit and recession. In 2017, Governor Doug Ducey appointed him to the Arizona Corporation Commission, where he was elected to a full term in 2018 and advocated for free markets and against policies like the "Arizona Green New Deal." In 2024, he won election back to the Arizona House for District 10; his next election is in 2026.
