Biography
Senator Justin Boyd
Justin Boyd is an American Republican state senator from Arkansas. He was born in 1975 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and currently resides in Van Buren. He is a practicing pharmacist and small-business owner with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare. Boyd is married to Lori Boyd and has three children. He is a member of the Roman Catholic faith.

Political Experience
Boyd began his political career in 2015 when he was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives, representing the 77th district and succeeding Stephanie Malone. He served in the House until 2022, during which time he held positions including vice co-chair of the Joint Budget Committee and served on the House Insurance and Commerce Committee and House Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee.
In 2022, Boyd ran for the Arkansas State Senate. He defeated Kelly Procter Pierce in the Republican primary and then defeated Becky Ward in the general election with 63 percent of the votes. He assumed office in the 94th Arkansas General Assembly on January 9, 2023, representing District 27, which includes most of Fort Smith in Sebastian County.
As a state senator, Boyd holds several leadership positions including Vice Chair of the Arkansas Legislative Council and serves on multiple committees including the Senate Insurance and Commerce Committee, Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee, and Senate Rules, Resolutions and Memorials Committee. He is also a member of the Joint Budget Committee and the Task Force on Autism.
Boyd has sponsored significant legislation, including Act 427 establishing the Strengthen Arkansas Homes Fund to help homeowners protect their residences against severe weather, Act 426 promoting transparency in online marketplaces, and legislation allowing hospital pharmacies to dispense medications upon patient discharge. He was also the lead Senate sponsor of Act 359 of 2023, which funded a feasibility study for an Arkansas spaceport.
