Julie Rogers

Position: State Representative

Julie Rogers represents the 41st House District in Michigan, which includes portions of the City of Kalamazoo, City of Portage, Kalamazoo Township, and Comstock Township, serving approximately 91,872 constituents. She grew up in Kalamazoo County and is a graduate of public schools in the area.

Education

Rogers attended Marquette University, where she earned a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. She has maintained an active career as a practicing physical therapist for over 25 years, which has significantly influenced her policy priorities, particularly in public health advocacy.

Political Experience

Before her election to the Michigan House, Rogers served on the Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners for eight years, including a period as Board Chair. She was also an At-Large member of the Michigan Association of Counties Board of Directors from 2018 to 2020.

In her current role as State Representative, Rogers holds several significant positions:

Additionally, Rogers launched the first legislative Youth Advisory Council for Kalamazoo to expose high school students to government and public policy. Her advocacy work has focused on auto no-fault reform, driven by her experience as a physical therapist witnessing the impact of catastrophic car accidents on long-term care access. She has served on the National Association of Counties Health Steering Committee and is recognized as a champion of public health initiatives.
