Biography

Julie Jarvis is a Republican member of the Wyoming House of Representatives, representing District 57 in Natrona County. A fourth-generation Basque Wyomingite, she was born and raised on a small farm outside Buffalo, embodying conservative values like faith, family, sports, fishing, honesty, hunting, and living below one's means. She assumed office on January 6, 2025, after winning the Republican nomination and election. Jarvis is a proud mother of a 20-year-old daughter and an 18-year-old son attending Wyoming schools, and she is a lifelong hunter and 2nd Amendment advocate. Notable positions include her opposition to a controversial gravel mine at the base of Casper Mountain and advocacy for parents' rights and collaborative instruction in education.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Graduated as valedictorian from Buffalo High School while working two jobs; played DII intercollegiate soccer and volleyball; holds a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership.
  • Professional Experience: Worked in Wyoming industries including concrete, oil and gas bookkeeping, lifeguarding, coaching, and education; currently serves as Director of Teaching and Learning in Natrona County School District #1.
  • Political Experience: Elected to Wyoming House District 57 in 2024, assuming office in 2025; previously challenged incumbent Rep. Jeanette Ward in the Republican primary.
