Biography

Senator Julian Bradley ** represents **Wisconsin's 28th Senate District, which includes portions of Racine, Walworth, and Waukesha Counties. Born on February 11, 1981, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was raised in poverty by a single mother in La Crosse, Wisconsin, alongside two siblings. In 2020, he made history as the first Black Republican elected to the Wisconsin State Senate, defeating Democrat Adam Murphy with nearly 60% of the vote; he is currently in his second term. Notable achievements include chairing the Senate Committee on Utilities to promote reliable energy and broadband access, serving on the Joint Finance Committee, and authoring "The Hospital Bill" for transparent hospital pricing. He has prioritized public safety by sponsoring bills to increase bail for violent offenders, reform parole, and strengthen election integrity via constitutional amendments. Bradley was inducted into the WXW Wrestling Hall of Fame as a professional wrestler and resides in New Berlin. In 2022, the Milwaukee Police Association named him Legislator of the Year.
