Biography
Judy Ward is a Republican Pennsylvania State Senator representing Senate District 30, which includes Blair, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, and Mifflin Counties, along with parts of others. Born August 24, 1959, in Altoona, Blair County, she is a lifelong resident of the area and was elected to the Senate in 2018, becoming the first woman to represent the 30th District. A registered nurse and former small business owner, development professional, and wellness coordinator for Ward Transport and Logistics, she previously served two terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives .
Notable achievements include authoring laws to support farmers, certify temporary nurse aides from the COVID-19 period, aid community health centers, exempt taxes on blighted property improvements, strengthen penalties for assaults on healthcare workers, protect domestic violence victims, and expand access to psychology services. She led efforts for transparency in Pharmacy Benefit Managers, insurance coverage for Stage IV cancer treatments, and expanded fundraising for cancer and developmental disability charities. Ward chairs the Senate Transportation Committee, overseeing roads, bridges, public transit, airports, ports, and railways. She previously chaired the Senate Aging and Youth Committee, addressing nursing home issues during the pandemic and improving newborn health screenings. Other roles include the Senate Republican Policy Committee, Local Government Commission, Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee, Pennsylvania Dairy Future Commission, Pennsylvania Rural Population Revitalization Commission, and various caucuses like the Prayer, Fair, Aviation, Gas and Oil, and Cystic Fibrosis Caucuses. Her priorities focus on improving Pennsylvania's business climate, job creation, and economic/agricultural opportunities.

- Political Experience: Elected to Pennsylvania House ; elected to Pennsylvania State Senate District 30 ; Republican National Convention delegate ; alternate delegate ; appointments to commissions including Dairy Future , Local Government , Joint Legislative Conservation , and Rural Population Revitalization . Active in community boards and Food for Families Soup Kitchen. Resides in Hollidaysburg with husband Bill; two grown sons.
