Judith A. García is a Democratic member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 11th Suffolk district since January 2023. A Chelsea native, she made history as the first Latina to represent this district. Her priorities include affordable housing, urban environmental justice, and economic opportunities for women.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Earned a B.A. in urban studies from Wheaton College .
• Political Experience: Served several terms on the Chelsea City Council ; elected in 2022 after winning the Democratic primary and general election . Currently serves on the Joint Committees for Public Health and Public Service.
• Professional Background: Worked in healthcare at a Boston nonprofit, cybersecurity in the private sector, as communications manager for The Neighborhood Developers, board member of HarborCOV, and Latinx communications advisor for Kennedy for MA; also served as a U.S. delegate to Russia.
