Joyce Lucille Davis Waddell is a Democratic member of the North Carolina Senate representing District 40 since 2015. A tireless advocate for community empowerment, she has championed policies supporting education, healthcare, housing, women, children, and families. Notable achievements include her service on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education, leadership as a school system administrator, and civic involvement with organizations like the National Council of Negro Women, Democratic Women, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc., and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
