Biography
Josie Tomkow is a Republican representative for Florida House District 51, covering parts of Osceola and Polk counties. Born on October 15, 1995, in Tampa, Florida, she resides in Polk City and works as a cattle rancher from a ranching family. She is Episcopalian and advocates for agriculture, foster care, adoption, and school choice. Elected in a special election on May 1, 2018, to finish a term in District 39, she served there until 2022 before moving to District 51. Her term ends in 2026.
Notable achievements include Legislator of the Year from Children’s Home Society and Florida Coalition for Children , Florida Farm Bureau Champion for Agriculture , Florida 4-H Legislative Champion , and awards from Florida Federation of Republican Women, Florida Chamber of Commerce, and American Conservative Union Foundation.
