Biography
Joshua Tarsky is a Democratic member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 13th Norfolk District since 2025. The district includes the towns of Needham, Dover, and precincts 1 and 2 of Medfield in Norfolk County. A former US Army Special Forces Soldier with deployments to Afghanistan and Honduras, he is currently a Judge Advocate General attorney in the Massachusetts National Guard, principal of Holbrook Middle-High School , and father of three living in Needham. Notable achievements include nearly 20 years of military service, dedication to education reform, and service on the Veterans and Federal Affairs Committee, where he advocates for veterans' mental health access, educational opportunities, and family support.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Attended Yale University; earned a Master's in Education from Harvard University; obtained a law degree from Suffolk University using the GI Bill.
- Professional Experience: Enlisted in the US Army post-9/11, serving as a Green Beret; taught English in Lawrence, Massachusetts; transitioned to education administration as a public school principal.
