Biography

Josh Brecheen is a Republican U.S. Representative for Oklahoma's 2nd congressional district , serving since 2023. A fourth-generation rancher, Native American , committed Christian, husband to Kacie, and father of four children, he was born on June 19, 1979. Prior to Congress, he owned small businesses including an excavation and trucking operation, cutting horse training , and motivational speaking . Notable positions include member of the House Budget Committee and House Committee on Homeland Security ; he emphasizes limited government, fiscal conservatism, reducing debt/deficit spending, and conservative social policies. Achievements include self-term-limiting after serving in the Oklahoma Senate , where he led efforts against tax increases, debt, Common Core, and proposed cuts to legislative meetings/pay and public art funding; he also served as field representative for Sen. Tom Coburn , whom he considers a mentor, and was Oklahoma FFA State President .

Education: Attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University; earned a BS in Agricultural Communication and Animal Science from Oklahoma State University .
