Biography

Josh Branscum, born on June 13, 1982, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, is a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing District 83 since January 1, 2021. This district encompasses Clinton, Cumberland, and Russell counties, as well as part of Pulaski County. Prior to his political career, Branscum served as the executive vice president of Branscum Construction Company, a family-owned business founded by his father and grandfather. He began his career there as a laborer and worked his way up to president, overseeing numerous construction projects across the Commonwealth. Branscum is married to his high school sweetheart, Kara, a middle school science teacher, and they have two children. The family resides in Russell Springs and attends First Baptist Church.
