Biography
Joseph D. Fox is a Republican representative for Michigan's 101st House District, which includes all of Newaygo County and parts of Oceana, Lake, Mason, and Wexford counties. Born on September 15, 1954, in Tecumseh, he was first elected in November 2022, sworn in January 2023, and reelected in 2024. He resides in Fremont, is married to Barbara DeBoer Fox for over 43 years, and has four children and eleven grandchildren. His professional background includes serving as Director of the Newaygo County Commission on Aging for 7 years, Christian school teacher and principal for 25 years, church planter and missionary for 7 years, and work in farming, construction, pastoring, and administration. Notable committee roles include vice chair of the House Election Integrity Committee, and membership on the House Education and Workforce Committee, House Agriculture Committee, House Families and Veterans Committee, and previously Families, Children and Seniors Committee.

- BA in Philosophy/Religion and Psychology from Spring Arbor College .
- Master of Divinity from Calvin Theological Seminary .
- MA in Counseling Psychology and Teaching Certificate in Psychology and Teaching about Religion from Western Michigan University .
- Professional Degree ABD in Education Leadership from Eastern Michigan University .
Political Experience:
- Elected to Michigan House in 2022 ; reelected November 2024, sworn in January 2025.
- Serves as a conservative Republican with community involvement in Right to Life, church leadership, and Rotary.
- Religion: Ordained Christian Reformed minister and follower of Jesus.
