Biography
Jordan Ridley is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 22, which includes portions of Cobb and Cherokee counties, cities like Sutallee and Victoria, and about 54,000 residents. A Cherokee County native from Woodstock, he was elected in November 2022 after winning the Republican primary in May 2022 and the general election with 61.5% of the vote, succeeding Wes Cantrell; he assumed office in 2023. Prior to this, he served as Chair of the Cherokee County Republican Party in 2021, growing membership and leading a rebranding. His priorities include transportation safety on highways 20 and 92, economic development, smaller government, and low taxes.
Notable achievements include sponsoring a bill requiring labels on lab-grown meat, which passed the House 161-3 but stalled in the Senate, and legislation enabling third-party discovery rights before the Georgia Public Service Commission to aid challenges to utility rate hikes.
Education and Political Experience
Ridley holds a B.S. in public policy from Georgia State University's Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, where he gained real-world experience through campaign work that sparked his political passion. His experience includes grassroots leadership, party chairmanship, and leveraging redistricting post-2022 census to enter the legislature.
