Biography
Jordan A. Harris represents the 186th Legislative District in south and southwest Philadelphia in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, a position he has held since his election in 2012. Born on May 12, 1984, in Philadelphia, he serves as House Majority Appropriations Chairman, a role where he negotiates the state budget and shapes fiscal priorities. Notable achievements include being the first African American elected as Democratic Caucus Whip and Appropriations Chair , co-authoring the landmark Clean Slate Law that has sealed over 40-55 million records to aid rehabilitation, and co-founding the Black-Jewish Caucus in 2023. He also served as Chair of the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus and as a 2020 Electoral College delegate for Joe Biden.
