Jonathan Skrmetti

Jonathan Thomas Skrmetti was born on January 4, 1977, and is a Republican attorney serving as Tennessee's 28th Attorney General and Reporter. He was appointed by the Tennessee Supreme Court on August 10, 2022, and sworn in on September 1, 2022, to serve an eight-year term. Tennessee is unique as the only state where the Supreme Court selects the Attorney General rather than through popular election.

Skrmetti is married with four children and resides in Franklin, Tennessee.
