Senator Jonathan Sickler

Jonathan Lee Sickler is a Republican state senator representing District 17 in North Dakota, which includes Grand Forks. He has served in the North Dakota Senate since 2022. Sickler is a lawyer by profession and is married to Alexandra, with whom he has three children.

Education

Sickler earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Dakota and his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.

Political Experience

Sickler serves on two key Senate committees: the Senate Committee on Information Technology and the Senate Committee on Higher Education. During his tenure, he has voted to expand free school lunch programs to students in North Dakota schools and has also voted on pension-related matters for public workers through the NDPERS system.
