Jonathan G. Jacobson is a Democratic Assembly Member representing New York's 104th District, which spans parts of Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster Counties. Elected in 2018, he previously served on the Newburgh City Council, where he focused on improving city infrastructure. His career includes roles as Assistant Counsel to the Speaker of the New York State Assembly , head of the Consumer Frauds Bureau at the Poughkeepsie Regional Office of the New York State Attorney General, and a New York State Workers’ Compensation Law Judge. He also chaired the Orange County Democratic Committee for 22 years and ran a private law firm specializing in real estate, business law, workers’ compensation, and Social Security disability cases. Notable achievements include passing bills to reform Workers’ Compensation processes, simplify voting by clarifying polling site changes, end conflicts of interest at the Board of Elections, bolster reproductive health rights, enact gun safety laws, increase education aid, and hold utilities like Central Hudson accountable.
