About

Jonah Orion Wheeler is a Democratic representative for Hillsborough District 33 in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, serving since 2022. Born on March 1, 2003, in Keene, New Hampshire, he grew up across the state, including Jaffrey, Peterborough, and other towns, with brief periods in Seattle and Maine. At 23 years old, he is one of the youngest state legislators in the country and among the less than 1% of New Hampshire legislators who are Black. Notable for his independent stance, Wheeler voted in favor of a 2025 bill allowing businesses to restrict transgender women from female spaces like bathrooms and sports, criticizing his party's orthodoxy for silencing nuanced discussions on women's issues.
