Johnny Mautz is a Republican State Senator representing District 37 in Maryland, covering Caroline, Dorchester, Talbot, and Wicomico counties. Born John Frederick Mautz IV on September 19, 1970, in Fort Devens, Massachusetts, he grew up on Maryland's Eastern Shore, attending schools in St. Michaels and Easton, and is a multi-generational resident deeply invested in the community. He operates his family's restaurant, Carpenter Street Saloon, in St. Michaels, and is known as an avid outdoorsman involved in local sports, youth programs, and boards like the Neighborhood Service Center. Notable positions include service on the Senate Finance Committee, and previously as Ranking Member on the House Economic Matters Committee. He advocates for Eastern Shore values, including tax cuts, economic growth, and support for law enforcement.
