Biography
John R. Williams is a Democratic member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 80 . Born on May 24, 1990, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to parents Jacques and Janet Williams, he currently serves as a financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual. A Catholic affiliated with Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, Rotary, and the Morgantown High School Foundation, Williams has been Board President for Senior Monongalians, highlighting his community service focus on seniors. Notable past roles include former Chair of the Banking and Insurance Committee and service on committees such as Government Organization, Roads and Transportation, and Select Committee on Education Reform.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree from West Virginia University.
Political Experience: Elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates for District 51 , then District 80 . Candidate in 2014, 2020, and 2024 elections. In 2025, lead sponsor of 7 bills on topics including highways locality pay, opioid taxes, minimum wage increases, retirement cost-of-living adjustments, animal cruelty, sibling visitation, and prohibiting civil rights violations based on disability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
