John Paul Temple is a former Republican Florida state representative for House District 52, covering Sumter County and part of Hernando County. Born on May 11, 1976, in Texas, he moved to Florida in 1981 and resides in Wildwood with his wife, Jessica, and daughters Jenna and Julia. A lifelong educator and Christian, Temple served from 2022 until transitioning in late 2025 to become president of Lake-Sumter State College. Notable roles include vice chair of the Education Quality Subcommittee and service on committees like Insurance & Banking and PreK-12 Appropriations. He chaired the Sumter County Republican Party since 2018, boosting voter turnout and hosting high-profile events.
